Accessibility within the museums

The museums are partly or completely barrier-free for all visitors. Disabled visitors can take part in educational and cultural programmes in all municipal museums. The programmes of Museumsdienst Köln assist visitors with impaired vision/hearing, learning difficulties and mental handicaps and help them explore exhibitions.

These services are offered for school classes and other groups. Guided tours and creative programmes are available in easy-to-understand language. There are formats for visitors with learning difficulties and dementia impairment, and workshops for visually impaired and blind visitors. The educational staff is trained to cater for the individual requirements of the various target groups.
