Head of the young Magus

While broad and sketchy underdrawing lines are relatively clearly perceptible in the hair of the young, standing Magus, there is no such differentiation in the internal drawing of the head. In addition, in the area of the nose, alongside an outline, there is some fine hatching that differs from the broader lines. This could be part of a second stage in the underdrawing, when forms were more closely defined. The roughly sketched hairband was originally placed higher in the drawing, and shifted downwards in the painted version.
