The work of Cologne photographer Boris Becker illustrates the desert landscapes where ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ spent many years of his life. Above all, Becker's works of architecture and landscapes are impressive for the stringency of their composition and their intensive colours. A large selection of his fascinating ‘Desert Images – Wüstenbilder’ are on show in a special section of the exhibition.
Becker was born in Cologne in 1961. He studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin and the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf. In 1988, he was awarded the prestigious
post-graduate ‘Meisterschüler’ qualification. Becker has presented his works in numerous group exhibitions and solo shows. In 2010, he was a visiting professor at the Cologne Academy of Media Arts.
